Responsibilities

This position is open to current contractors working within the Genomics Extraction Core (#55139).

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to assist in diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment.
• Conduct testing in specialized labs, utilizing manual techniques or automated systems.
• Operate and maintain instruments, troubleshoot assays, evaluate test accuracy, interpret results, and support testing operations.
• Use multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results.
• May assist with specimen collection and work with minimal supervision.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols when handling infectious specimens and hazardous materials.
• Produce accurate results under time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and assay troubleshooting is desirable.
• Maintain good communication and teamwork skills.
• Be flexible with scheduling, including off-shifts, holidays, on-call, and weekends.
• Foster an inclusive work environment, respecting diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

*Note: Individuals hired must complete 2 years in this role before transferring to other positions within Mayo Clinic.
