Job description

This position offers a $12,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates only.

Are you an experienced Clinical Lab Professional seeking a new challenge or starting your career in Clinical Lab Science? Labcorp is interested in speaking with you about exciting opportunities as a Technologist at Henry Ford Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Warren Campus in Warren, MI. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and challenging environment, contributing to our mission: "Improving Health, Improving Lives."

Work Schedule: 4-10 hour shifts: 8:30 PM - 7:00 AM, including rotating weekends.

Benefits: Employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Job Responsibilities:

  • Determine specimen acceptability for testing based on established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental SOPs.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Replenish testing supplies as needed.
  • Assist with specimen processing when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local CLIA & State requirements.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree.
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to pass a color vision test.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed.
