Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our Deerfield Beach, FL team. You’ll perform routine and complex testing, monitor instruments, and ensure accurate results to support high-quality patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a chemical/biological science and Florida Medical Technologist license. Preferred candidates have ASCP/AMT certification and some lab experience. Strong computer skills and adaptability to shift needs are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• Florida Medical Technologist license.
• ASCP or AMT certification (preferred).
• Ability to work overtime or other shifts as needed.
• Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team in Deerfield Beach, FL.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday flexible schedule 7:00am - 3:30pm or 10:00 am - 6:30pm

Job Responsibilities

• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
