Are you an experienced Clinical Lab Professional seeking a new challenge or starting your career in Clinical Lab Science? LabCorp is looking for you to join our team at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, AL. In this role, you'll work in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and challenging environment, contributing to our mission: “Improving Health, Improving Lives”.

Work Schedule: 5 x 8-hour shifts (Weekdays; 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM) with rotating weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Determine specimen acceptability based on established criteria.
2. Perform routine and complex testing procedures per SOPs.
3. Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
4. Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
5. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
6. Report accurate and timely test results.
7. Perform preventive maintenance and quality control.
8. Manage testing supplies.
9. Assist with specimen processing as needed.
10. Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements.
2. Minimum 1 year of clinical lab testing experience or an MLS degree.
3. ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
4. Ability to work independently and in a team.
5. Proficient with computers; familiarity with LIS is a plus.
6. Attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills.
7. Must pass a color vision test.
8. Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed.
