Labcorp in Durham, NC is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team for a Tuesday–Saturday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM shift. The role involves ensuring specimen acceptability, performing routine and complex testing, and maintaining instrumentation and quality control to deliver accurate patient results.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science or related field. Preferred candidates may have ASCP or AMT certification and prior lab experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

LabCorp is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team at our facility in Durham, NC.

Work Schedule

Tuesday-Saturday 6am-2:30pm

Job Responsibilities

• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
