Job summary

Sabine County Hospital seeks an experienced Clinical Lab Scientist to perform a full range of laboratory tests and ensure accurate results under the laboratory director’s guidance. The role emphasizes quality patient care and adherence to policy and procedure.

The candidate should hold a Bachelors in Medical Technology or AS with relevant experience and be familiar with regulatory requirements, QC, and PHI handling.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of specimen handling and processing policies.
• Familiar with quality control policies and documentation.
• Aware of state and federal lab regulations.
• Maintains confidentiality of PHI.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling, testing, and result reporting.
• Maintain proficiency testing records and ensure comparability with patient samples.
• Document QC activities, calibrations, and maintenance.
• Record corrective actions when test systems deviate from specs.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor.
• Operate and maintain clinical analyzers.
• Monitor patient test quality and distribute results.
• Maintain records of testing and QC activities.
