Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at All Saints Spring St Campus in Racine, WI. Work Schedule: 3rd shift, 9:30pm–7:30am, 10‑hour shifts weekdays and alternating holidays and weekends.

You will perform routine and complex testing, ensure specimen acceptability, monitor instrumentation, and document quality control procedures to deliver accurate patient results. Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s degree in a chemical/biological science or Medical

• Associate’s degree in a chemical/biological science, clinical lab science, or medical technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Determine acceptability of specimens for testing according to criteria.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE usage.

Job Responsibilities

• Determine acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• One year or more of core lab/generalist experience.
• One year or more of automated blood bank experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Proficient with computers.
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
