Job summary

Renew Biotechnologies, a translational diagnostics company in Utah, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to execute SOPs, support R&D, and manage samples per quality standards. The role emphasizes NGS workflows, data interpretation, and strict adherence to CAP/CLIA/FDA-like environments.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in a related field with 1–2 years of experience, proficiency in molecular biology, and experience with LIM systems and long-read sequencing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related field with 1–2 years of industry experience.
• Experience with NGS testing, particularly Oxford Nanopore or long-read sequencing is a plus.
• Experience in regulated environments (CAP, CLIA, FDA) is critical.
• Experience in proteomics or protein analysis.
• Knowledge of molecular biology, NGS library preparation and analysis.
• Ability to interpret and present data clearly and concisely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Experience with LIM systems.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute laboratory and analytical protocols and SOPs, including QC analysis on clinical samples.
• Provide operational support to the R&D team.
• Prepare laboratory solutions, reagents, eluents, and standards per procedure and quality standards.
• Record data accurately for all sample processes.
• Conduct sample and inventory reception with proper record entry.
• Maintain a clean, organized lab environment.
• Follow established safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth lab operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Laboratory Technician

Essential Job Functions

• Execute laboratory and analytical protocols and SOPs, including QC analysis, on clinical samples
• Provide operational support to the research and development team
• Prepare necessary laboratory solutions, reagents, eluents, and standards according to department procedure and quality standards
• Perform proper record entry of all sample processes
• Conduct sample and inventory reception, including ensuring accurate record entry
• Maintain laboratory environment in a clean and organized manner
• Follow established safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure effective laboratory operations
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines and 1-2 years of relevant industry experience
• Emphasis on NGS testing, specifically with Oxford Nanopore Technologies and other long-read sequencing capabilities being a benefit
• Experience working within regulatory environments (CAP, CLIA, FDA) is critical
• Experience working in proteomics or protein analysis
• Demonstrated knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology NGS library preparation and analysis, with
• Ability to interpret and present data and other complex information.
• A high level of commitment and a track record of quality work, with attention to detail
• Experience working within a LIM system
