Qualifications

• Tests and procedures performed under CLIA regulatory framework.
• Ability to perform manual and automated laboratory methods across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions when performance deviates.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor or Medical Director as needed.
• Perform and document maintenance on instruments/equipment daily, weekly, or monthly.
• Review accuracy of patient results prior to release or reporting.
• Recognize age-specific reference differences from newborns to geriatrics.
• Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested properly and avoid premature collaboration.
• May perform venipuncture or capillary puncture across ages.
• Assist in development and maintenance of lab policies and procedures.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and HR policies.
• In absence of supervisor, act as Lead Tech and oversee the section/department during shift.
