As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist III, you will be responsible for: performing complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment of disease, analyzing and ensuring accurate test results, maintaining complex instruments, monitoring quality control and assurance programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform specimen processing and testing independently, including moderate and high complexity tests. Analyze test results and ensure accuracy.
  • Evaluate and recommend new methods, instrumentation, and technology based on customer needs, cost-benefit analysis, and revenue potential, and inform management.
  • Ensure compliance with accrediting agencies. Serve as a resource within and outside the department.
  • Manage assigned projects, including planning, resource coordination, timeline management, and reporting progress to management.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures, evaluate data, document findings, and take corrective actions as needed. Communicate QC issues to supervisors.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective actions. Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills and seek guidance when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Clinical Laboratory setting.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), MLT(ASCP), MLT(HEW). Certification is waived for those with over 10 years of laboratory experience.
