Job Responsibilities:

• Perform specimen processing and testing independently, including moderate and high complexity tests.
• Analyze test results, demonstrating knowledge of pathological processes and correlating disease states with test outcomes.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and take corrective actions on instruments.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures, evaluate data, document findings, and communicate relevant QC information to supervisors.
• Review, write, or modify departmental procedures or policies.
• Complete competency checklists and pursue cross-training to ensure departmental flexibility and satisfactory operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of clinical lab experience, OR
• Associate’s Degree with at least 2 years of clinical lab experience, OR
• Bachelor’s Degree with clinical lab experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

One of the following certifications is required: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT). Certification is waived for those with 5 years of lab experience.
