Clinical Laboratory Scientist I – Winter Haven

Location: Winter Haven | Facility: BayCare Health System, Laboratory Services – WHH | Shift: Nights | 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri) | Schedule: Full Time | Onsite | Weekend Work: Occasional

Role Overview

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I, you will support high‑quality patient care by performing diagnostic laboratory testing and quality control procedures while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established laboratory standards. This role supports moderate to high‑complexity testing and plays a key role in daily laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing diagnostic testing and quality control procedures
• Preparing reagents and reporting test results in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Reviewing and overseeing moderate to high‑complexity testing
• Maintaining laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and supply inventory
• Monitoring computer applications related to laboratory operations
• Ensuring accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance in all testing activities
• Performing other duties as assigned in support of laboratory operations

Qualifications

Education – Required: Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field

Education – Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Experience – Required: Clinical laboratory experience

Experience – Preferred: Minimum of four (4) months of clinical laboratory experience

Licensure / Certification – Required:

• Clinical Laboratory Scientist / Technologist
• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
