Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform and report analyses from multiple specimen sources, ensuring high-quality patient care. You will participate in competency exams and maintain instrument quality controls in a clinical laboratory.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/MLS or related field with ASCP certification, and a minimum of one year of laboratory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/MLS or related biological/chemical/clinical lab science with ASCP certification required.
• ASCP certification or ASCP categorical certification is required/preferred.
• Minimum 1 year Laboratory experience is preferred.
• HEW (as listed) is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report analyses from multiple specimen sources.
• Maintain productivity and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Properly handle and accession specimens.
• Ensure instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and quality control.
• Replenish reagents and supplies per protocols.
• Follow established reporting procedures and use multiple computer applications.
