Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex tests authorized by CLIA, following laboratory procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting.
• Adhere to quality control policies, document corrective actions, and identify problems affecting test performance, notifying supervisors as needed.
• Conduct a variety of laboratory procedures using manual and automated methods across disciplines such as Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, and Immunology.
• Perform and document maintenance on instruments and equipment, review patient results for accuracy, and recognize age-specific differences in results.
• Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested properly and collaborate with other labs as required.
• May perform venipuncture or capillary puncture on various age groups, assist in developing lab policies, and adhere to safety and infection control policies.
• In the absence of a supervisor, may serve as Lead Tech, with responsibilities for the section or department during their shift.
• May be assigned responsibilities related to LIS and/or POCT, among other tasks.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or equivalent required within 18 months of employment.
• One year hospital laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological sciences, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as per CLIA.
• Valid State License if required by the state.

The estimated total compensation for this role is approximately $42,000, with the final offer based on experience, education, credentials, and other factors.
