Job summary

The James Laboratory at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center provides comprehensive lab services around the clock and trains residents and students. Under the supervision of the lab manager and lead technologists, the role includes quality control, instrument maintenance, and handling inquiries about results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, or biological science with Medical Technician certification.
• Must obtain Medical Technology certification within one year from the date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine automated and manual laboratory procedures, verifies and reports test requests and results.
• Handles phone inquiries regarding patient results, specimen collection and testing frequency.
• Performs and documents quality control, quality assurance and preventative maintenance on instrumentation.
