Job summary

Lighthouse Lab Services in Richmond, CA is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist to join a dedicated team on a DAY shift. The role requires an active California CLS license and a strong background in LC-MS, chemistry, or molecular testing within a clinical laboratory.

Qualifications

• Active and valid California CLS license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or related field.
• Experience with Mass Spec, Chemistry or Molecular testing in a clinical lab.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Familiarity with LIS/EMR systems preferred; maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex chemical analyses on biological samples with precision and accuracy.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment ensuring calibration and proper function.
• Interpret and report test results timely per protocols and QC standards.
• Develop and validate new testing procedures and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with lab staff and healthcare professionals to ensure test accuracy and patient care.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior staff.
• Maintain detailed, accurate laboratory records.

Lighthouse Lab Services is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Lab Scientist to join a dynamic team in the Richmond, CA area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to public health through meticulous laboratory testing and analysis. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in LC-MS, Chemistry OR Molecular testing and hold an active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license.

Responsibilities:

• Perform complex chemical analyses on biological samples with precision and accuracy.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring all are calibrated and functioning correctly.
• Interpret and report test results in a timely manner, adhering to established protocols and quality control standards.
• Participate in the development and validation of new testing procedures and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other laboratory personnel and healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient care and test accuracy.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior laboratory staff as needed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of laboratory activities and findings.

Qualifications:

• Active and valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Mass Spec, Chemistry OR Molecular testing within a clinical laboratory setting.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.

Shift & Benefits:

• DAY shift (Tues-Sat)
• $55-$65/hr + based on experience level
• Full-time, temporary assignment with an anticipated duration of approximately one year and potential for permanent hire
