**Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA)**

**Part-Time – Evenings Shift**

Texas Health HEB’s Laboratory department is seeking a skilled Medical Lab Assistant. Are you the right fit?

**Location:** Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, TX 76022

**Hours:** Part-Time; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • CLIAFE compliance with foreign education equivalency required
Experience:
  • Preferred: 6 months phlebotomy experience or completion of a one-semester phlebotomy course
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Preferred: PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician upon hire
Responsibilities:
  • Perform phlebotomy following laboratory procedures for specimen collection, patient identification, and labeling
  • Handle and process specimens according to safety guidelines
  • Manage unacceptable specimens appropriately
  • Follow established laboratory test procedures
  • Assist in other laboratory areas as needed
  • Report and evaluate test results
  • Facilitate workflow and support timely patient care
  • Process specimens and demonstrate proficiency in protocols
  • Participate in orientation and training of new staff, students, and volunteers
  • Attend continuing education sessions to maintain professional development
  • Adhere to quality control guidelines and perform equipment maintenance
  • Implement safety and infection control measures
