**Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA)**

**Full-Time Night Shift Position**

Texas Health HEB’s Laboratory department is seeking a skilled Medical Lab Assistant. Are you the right fit?

**Location:** Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, TX 76022

**Schedule:** Full-Time; Night Shift, 7 days on/7 days off; 8:30 PM - 7:00 AM

**Qualifications:**

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• CLIA-FE compliance with foreign education equivalency requirements

**Experience:**

• Preferred: 1 year as a phlebotomist or completion of a phlebotomy course

**Licenses/Certifications:**

• Preferred: PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician at hire

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Perform phlebotomy procedures including specimen collection, patient identification, and labeling
• Handle and process specimens following safety and laboratory protocols
• Manage unacceptable specimens appropriately
• Follow established laboratory test procedures
• Assist in other laboratory areas as needed
• Report and interpret test results
• Support workflow processes and team collaboration
• Process specimens and demonstrate competence in protocols
• Participate in training and orientation of new staff and students
• Maintain professional development through continuing education
• Adhere to quality control and equipment maintenance standards
• Implement safety and infection control measures
