POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Proficiently prepare samples for analytical testing and/or distribution of specimens to the proper analytical area. Accurately register, receive, process, and store biological specimens, such as blood, body fluid, and tissue, and accessions them into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Follow prescribed instructions, strategies, and criteria with maximum proficiency. Recognize sample stability and integrity issues before patient testing and notify appropriate personnel for corrections or resubmissions. Be accountable for your work as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of laboratory experience preferred.

• Military Laboratory Training: (Phase I - Air Force or Basic - Army).
