Job summary

Trios Health in Kennewick, WA is seeking a part-time Clinical Laboratory Assistant. You will perform phlebotomy, collect and handle specimens, and interact with patients to obtain information for lab records.

Responsibilities include transcribing orders, labeling and storing samples, and ensuring quality control and regulatory compliance. This role supports a community-focused health system within Lifepoint Health.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; phlebotomy training preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Phlebotomy duties including venipuncture and capillary collection.

• Perform phlebotomy as needed using standard equipment.
• Ensure requisitions have patient demographics and billing data.
• Transcribe physician orders accurately.
• Facilitate unobserved urine collection when required.
• Interact with patients to explain procedures and obtain information.
• Label, process and store specimens for analysis.

How you'll contribute

• Ability to perform phlebotomy duties as required, to include venipuncture and capillary techniques, using standard equipment such as vacutainer tubes and sleeves, tourniquets, syringes and butterfly needles.
• Assure that requisition includes patient demographics and accurate required billing information.
• Ability to transcribe physician orders
• Facilitate the unobserved collection of urine specimens.
• Interact directly with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears, and elicit cooperation.

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, candidates should have a high school diploma, BLS certification, and phlebotomy training. Additional requirements include:

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Required; 2 years of College or an Associate Degree is Preferred
• Minimum Work Experience: 3 years or more of lab related experience to include 3 months practicum gained in clinical, hospital or lab setting prefer for waived testing experience.
