Job summary

Trios Health in Kennewick, WA, is seeking a part-time Clinical Laboratory Assistant to perform phlebotomy, specimen handling, and basic lab clerical duties. You will collect blood samples, ensure proper labeling, and support quality control.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, phlebotomy training, and prior lab experience. This is a part-time on-site position with Lifepoint Health backing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college preferred.
• BLS certification and phlebotomy training required.
• 3+ years lab-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy including venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Ensure requisition accuracy with patient demographics and billing info.
• Transcribe physician orders.
• Collect and document urine specimens as needed.
• Process, label, and store specimens; maintain QC procedures.

How You'll Contribute

• Ability to perform phlebotomy duties as required, to include venipuncture and capillary techniques, using standard equipment such as vacutainer tubes and sleeves, tourniquets, syringes and butterfly needles.
• Assure that requisition includes patient demographics and accurate required billing information.
• Ability to transcribe physician orders
• Facilitate the unobserved collection of urine specimens.
• Interact directly with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears, and elicit cooperation.

• Perform and document various quality control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, candidates should have a high school diploma, BLS certification, and phlebotomy training. Additional requirements include:

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Required; 2 years of College or an Associate Degree is Preferred
• Minimum Work Experience: 3 years or more of lab related experience to include 3 months practicum gained in clinical, hospital or lab setting prefer for waived testing experience.
