Job summary

Health First is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to perform diagnostic tests across clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology and more within our Florida facilities. The MT ensures accuracy, quality control, and EMR documentation while maintaining efficiency and patient safety.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in MLS/CLS per CLIA, FL MT licensure, and autonomous work with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science or relevant field as outlined by CLIA.
• Work Experience: None.
• Licensure: Medical Technologist licensure in the State of Florida and in accordance with CLIA.
• Certification: None.
• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Proficient in required computer applications.
• Work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Strong skills in critical thinking, prioritization and organization of tasks; English communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical laboratory testing of various complexities, ensuring accuracy and validity of results.
• Maintains and calibrates lab analyzers; performs quality control and method validation as required.
• Competently uses EMR systems for patient records and results in accordance with procedures.
• Communicates effectively within the laboratory and with clinical departments.
• Cross trains and supports other lab sections as directed by leadership.
