Responsibilities

This position is exclusively open to individuals currently employed as Contractors in the Neuro Immunology Lab, work unit 58403. Responsibilities include:

1. Performing analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to assist healthcare providers in diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment.
2. Supporting laboratory operations to maintain and optimize testing capabilities, which may involve manual techniques or automated testing with sophisticated instruments.
3. Instrument operation and maintenance, troubleshooting, assay evaluation, result interpretation, and operational support.
4. Working with multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results.
5. May work with minimal supervision and assist with specimen collection.
6. Adhering strictly to safety protocols when working with infectious specimens, chemicals, and hazards.

Additional Requirements

• Hired individuals must complete 2 years in this position before transferring to other roles within Mayo Clinic.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, except for TN visa classification. Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Qualifications

• Must currently work as a Contractor in the Neuro Immunology Lab, work unit 58403.
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biological sciences required.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting is desirable.
• Ability to produce accurate results under time constraints, multitask, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work closely with others.
• Flexibility to accommodate scheduling, including off-shifts, holidays, on-call, and weekends.

Additional Details

Nonexempt position, hourly rate $31.79 - $47.71, full-time schedule, 80 hours per pay period, with shifts on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 3:00 pm to 1:30 am. Not an international assignment. Benefits eligible.
