University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pathology seeks a full-time Medical Technologist 2. The role involves verifying specimen IDs, preparing specimens, and ensuring safe handling.

You will analyze results, refer data to pathologists, calibrate equipment, and maintain inventory. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, plus a valid State of Florida Medical Technologist license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies specimen identification, prepares specimens for testing, and handles all specimens safely.
• Analyzes testing results and interprets abnormal or unusual results.
• Researches and prepares patient data and refers data/results to pathologists for evaluation and sign-out.
• Calibrates equipment, orders supplies, and maintains inventory.
• Recognizes test inconsistencies and takes corrective action while supporting colleagues.
• Administers quality-control tests and maintains data recording.
• Assists with orienting and training staff on laboratory techniques and operations.
• Adheres to policies and safeguards university assets.
