The position requires a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related sciences with lab experience and appropriate licensure/certification, with shifts including dayshift options in a Tuesday-Saturday or Wednesday-Saturday
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or in chemical/physical/biological sciences with at least one year of laboratory experience.
- ASCP certification for the assigned specialty, if available.
- FL state license to perform laboratory testing = Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
Responsibilities
- Performs clinical laboratory tests under supervision and exercises independent judgment.
- Follows procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, reporting, and records.
- Maintains proficiency testing records and aligns testing with SOPs.
- Determines specimen acceptability and prepares samples for testing.
- Analyses specimens using approved testing procedures.
- Reviews, releases test results and notifies interpreting physician of critical results.
- Performs quality control on reagents, equipment and assays and documents actions.
