Job summary

NeoGenomics in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to support the Pharma Services FISH department. The role requires handling complex laboratory procedures and working with various specimens under supervision.

The candidate will perform tests, ensure quality control, and maintain complete documentation, with ASCP and FL licensure requirements as outlined. This is a day shift position with potential adjustments based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a science degree with 1+ year of lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical laboratory tests proficiently under general supervision.
• Follows procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, reporting and maintains records.
• Maintains records that proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Determines acceptability of specimens and prepares clinical specimens for testing.
• Analyzes specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Reviews and releases test results and reports STATS or Critical results.
• Performs and documents Quality Control on reagents, equipment and assays.
• Documents corrective actions when test systems deviate from specs.
• Prepare stock solutions, reagents and cocktails per SOPs and evaluate them.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college or university preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences with the addition of at least one year of laboratory experience/training/training course
