Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team in Washington, DC. The position operates Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, in a fast-paced laboratory setting focused on delivering accurate patient results.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in a chemical/biological science or MLS degree, with at least 1 year of clinical lab testing experience. ASCP/AMT certification is preferred, with potential for overtime based on business needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR MLS degree.
2 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience (preferred).
ASCP or AMT certification (preferred).
Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits meeting CLIA standards may meet education requirements.

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
