Job Summary:

The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Laboratory Technologist II, Blood Bank. The individual will be responsible for performing duties encompassing all aspects of blood bank testing with a key focus on quality control and meticulous record keeping.

Illustrative Duties

• Performs all aspects of blood bank testing, including but not limited to:
  • ABO/Rh Typing
  • Cross Matching
  • Antibody Detection
  • Identification with appropriate follow-ups
• Maintains quality control of equipment and reagents.
• Manages meticulous record-keeping with great attention to detail.
• Possesses and utilizes great follow-up skills.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Chemical or Biological Science.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License.
• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts across a wide range of key stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASCP Certification.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
