Clinical Lab Technologist

At Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York, the flagship of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), our labs are a cornerstone of care. As a clinical laboratory technologist, your precision and expertise will directly influence life-changing diagnoses and treatments. You’ll work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment where your skills won’t just be used; they’ll be respected and sharpened.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform a range of clinical analyses across chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, special hematology, and coagulation.
  • Run tests including but not limited to CBC with diff, chemistry panels, PT/PTT, thyroid, drug screens, and ROTEM analysis.
  • Review, interpret, and verify test results with confidence and accuracy.
  • Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment — and troubleshoot like a pro when needed.
  • Communicate critical results directly to attending physicians and clinical teams.
  • Support ongoing lab operations by maintaining quality control, calibrating instruments, and preparing reagents.
  • Train new technologists/technicians and participate in onboarding when needed.
  • Uphold all SOPs and ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to validation studies for new equipment and procedures.

To be considered, we require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or equivalent.
  • Current New York State Clinical Lab Technologist license or limited/restricted New York State permit for clinical lab technology.
  • Zero to two (0-2) years’ experience preferred (new grads encouraged to apply).
  • HLA testing in bone marrow transplantation is a plus.
