Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday 4:00 pm–12:30 am with rotating Saturdays, supporting routine and complex testing in a high-volume lab. Responsibilities include specimen acceptability, SOP-based testing, instrumentation troubleshooting, reagent evaluation, and timely reporting of results to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred with 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE
