Job summary

Labcorp in Gainesville, GA is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform complex procedures and troubleshoot equipment to ensure accurate results.

The role requires an Associate degree in a chemical or biological science, with ASCP/AMT certification preferred. Candidates should be able to work in a high-volume lab, maintain safety standards, and support test reporting for quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a chemical or biological science; CLIA standards may apply
• Insert any state license if applicable
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions per SOPs
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper function
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE
