Clinical Lab Technician - Esoterix - Entry level, will train!

The Esoterix division at LabCorp is seeking a Technician to join their team in Calabasas, CA. Esoterix provides esoteric testing for hospitals and physician specialists, primarily in endocrinology and GI testing. Our goal is to deliver premier laboratory services that positively impact patient care and cost-effective medical treatment. The Lab Technician will assist in specimen testing under direct supervision, working under the oversight of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in our Rheumatology department.

Pay Range

$23.00 - $30.00 per hour plus 2nd Shift Differential.

All job offers are based on skills, relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, and market data.

Work Schedule

Wednesday - Saturday, 3:00 pm - 1:30 am

Benefits

Employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO/FTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Part-time employees working less than 20 hours are eligible for 401(k) only.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in specimen testing under the supervision of a Clinical Lab Scientist.
• Record receipt, use, and expiration dates of reagents, kits, controls, and standards.
• Perform pipetting using calibrated devices.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and document activities.
• Follow SOPs and safety regulations of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP, and other bodies.
• Document all activities for regulatory compliance.
• Enhance understanding of laboratory medicine and clinical significance of results.

Requirements

• B.A./B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related field.
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
• High attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must pass a color vision test.
• Flexible to work overtime or different shifts as needed.
