Job summary

Labcorp is seeking an entry-level Technician for our Calabasas, CA team. You will participate in specimen testing under supervision, record reagent dates, and assist with instrument maintenance on nights (Sun—Thu, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM).

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or related field and 1+ year of lab experience, plus proficiency with computers and LIS. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential; overtime flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more lab experience.
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and in a team; strong attention to detail.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts.

Responsibilities

• Participate in specimen testing under the supervision of a Clinical Lab Scientist.
• Record dates of receipt, use, and expiration for reagents, kits, controls, and standards.
• Perform pipetting using preset devices and automated systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and log activities.
• Adhere to SOPs and safety requirements (CLIA, CAP, Esoterix).
• Document activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop understanding of laboratory medicine and clinical significance of results.

Labcorp is seeking an entry level Technician to join our team in Calabasas CA.

Work Schedule

Sunday - Thursday 10:00PM -6:30AM

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in specimen testing according to established procedures working under the technical oversight of a Clinical Lab Scientist
• Record dates of receipt, in use, and expiration for all reagents, kits, controls, and standards used for assigned assays. Ensure material used is not expired prior to use
• Perform pipetting using pre-set devices, calibrated and approved automatic devices or fixed volume dispensers
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, document PM appropriately, and immediately contact appropriate personnel for problems requiring complex instrument repairs
• Adhere to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies
• Document all activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance
• Develop an ever-increasing understanding of laboratory medicine and the clinical significance of laboratory results

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• 1 year or more of lab experience

Pay Range

• Pay Range: $24.00- $30.00 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
