UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care - Wildwood in Wildwood, FL is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist Generalist to perform diagnostic procedures and maintain lab quality in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires an Associate's degree in MLT or related field, and an Active Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license, with strong English reading/writing skills. This is a full-time position with flexible nights and days in the Wildwood facility.

Responsibilities

• Maintain scheduling flexibility and attendance.
• Keep bench stocked and communicate with shift.
• Complete tasks within assigned time frames and proficiency testing.
• Perform routine patient testing with proper QC.
• Record and report results accurately (including patient data, QC, proficiency testing).
• Operate lab instruments with QC checks and maintenance.
• Participate in departmental committees and mentoring of new staff.
• Attend staff meetings and complete required competencies and education.
• Pursue training and certification to enhance area focus.
• Demonstrate professional behavior with physicians, peers, patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist Generalist is responsible for performance of diagnostic procedures in the area for which they are assigned. This position requires an individual who is highly skilled in areas that they are licensed. This individual helps maintain an excellent rapport between Laboratory staff and other hospital departments.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling flexibility.
• Meets attendance policy- absence and tardy
• Leaves bench assigned stocked, communicates clearly with other shift using log/verbal, notes or other appropriate tools.
• Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame including Turnaround time, proficiency testing
• Performs routine patient testing including identification, preparation, specimen collection, handling, processing, testing and reporting including Critical results according to Lab standards.
• Reports and records timely and correctly results including patient , QC ,proficiency testing, preventative maintenance records
• Operation of assigned Lab instruments including reviewing of QC, maintenance and function checks
• Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members
• Attends Staff Meetings, completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned.
• Seeks training, educational, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty.
• Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients and family members.
• Completes other duties as requested/assigned
