Job summary

UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care - Wildwood is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist Generalist. This PRN role focuses on performing diagnostic procedures and maintaining high standards of accuracy while supporting multiple shifts in a busy laboratory.

You will operate assigned lab instruments, ensure QC and proficiency testing records, and collaborate with hospital staff to deliver timely, reliable results for patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in MLT or related field required.
• Active Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling flexibility.
• Meets attendance policy- absence and tardy.
• Leaves bench assigned stocked, communicates clearly with other shift using log/verbal, notes or other appropriate tools.
• Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame including Turnaround time, proficiency testing.
• Performs routine patient testing including identification, preparation, specimen collection, handling, processing, testing and reporting including Critical results according to Lab standards.
• Reports and records timely and correctly results including patient , QC ,proficiency testing, preventative maintenance records
• Operation of assigned Lab instruments including reviewing of QC, maintenance and function checks
• Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members
• Attends Staff Meetings, completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned.
• Seeks training, educational, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty.
• Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients and family members.
• Completes other duties as requested/assigned

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist Generalist is responsible for performance of diagnostic procedures in the area for which they are assigned. This position requires an individual who is highly skilled in areas that they are licensed. This individual helps maintain an excellent rapport between Laboratory staff and other hospital departments.
