Job summary

Thisiscny is seeking a Laboratory Support Clerk to perform specimen receiving and related tasks in the Pathology department. You will use LIS and HIS systems for accessioning, labeling, and report preparation, and assist with problem resolution and communication with other departments and physicians.

You will also greet visitors, answer phones, deliver samples to labs, and rotate between Specimen Receiving and Processing as scheduled. Monday–Friday, 8:00–4:30, in Syracuse, NY.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent education/experience required.
• Clinical laboratory experience or medical field background preferred for consideration.
• Ability to greet visitors and answer phones in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and perform accessioning, labeling, and report preparation using LIS/HIS.
• Assist with problem resolution and follow-up with UH departments and referring physicians.
• Greet and assist visitors to Pathology; deliver samples to labs for testing.
• Rotate between Specimen Receiving and Processing as scheduled.
