Job summary

Responsibilities

• Performs daily lab operations including sample processing, result reporting and distribution.
• Provides direction and oversight of workflow within the assigned area as appropriate.
• May perform waived point of care testing.
• Interacts with hospital personnel, physicians and patients regarding specimens and orders.
• Complies with policies of Laboratory Services, the hospital and accrediting agencies.
• Maintains knowledge of system computers and vendor software as required by the job.
• Ensures safe care and adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures and standards.
• Supports department goals and serves as a preceptor or resource to staff.
• Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences.
• Other duties as assigned.
