Job summary

Vanderbilt Health's laboratory team is seeking staff to accession specimens and tissue materials for testing, with shifts that include 4 days x 10 hours on weekdays and 3 days x 12 hours on weekends. The role involves packaging specimens for sending to referring laboratories and collaborating with lab staff, medical personnel and external customers.

You will perform basic customer service tasks, follow established procedures, and contribute to a team focused on high-quality, efficient laboratory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of related lab work experience.
• Experience with specimen handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sorting, triaging, receiving, sending, processing and batching specimens.
• Processing samples pre-analytically for testing.
• Providing general clerical support.
