Job summary

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist at USC Arcadia Hospital performs clinical laboratory testing of biological specimens under the direct supervision of the section Technical Coordinator and reports to the Director of Laboratory Services. The testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and for reporting test results.

This role requires a California license, a Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or a related field, and competency in quality control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field is required.
• California CLS license is required.
• Experience with quality control and testing procedures preferred.
• Microbiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing of biological specimens under supervision.
• Collaborate with the technical coordinator and director to ensure accurate results.
• Maintain quality control documentation and instrument maintenance records.
• Train and orient new staff and students as needed.
• Review reports for technical and clerical accuracy.
