Job summary

This full-time, on-site role requires a BS in Clinical Lab Science or equivalent and relevant certifications; occasional float to other locations may occur. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Lab Science or equivalent, or combination of education and experience qualifying for MLS.
• Graduate of NCCLS approved training program.
• ASCP MLS certification eligibility within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient, control and proficiency testing specimens and record results timely.
• Calibrate, maintain, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation and document issues.
• Complete continuing education and document accordingly.
• Follow regulatory, safety and hospital standards and policies.
• Instruct, orient and mentor students, employees, residents and other health care providers.
• Maintain adequate inventory and prepare, label and store reagents and specimens.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
• Perform phlebotomy and sample collection as applicable.
• Review and correlate results with patient condition and verify accuracy.
