Qualifications

• BS Degree in Medical Lab Science preferred. NAACLS Accredited Program preferred.
• Meets requirements to sit for CLS/MT Certification exam
• Licensed Clinical Lab Generalist or Specialist by Louisiana State Board (CLG/CLS)
• ASCP Board certification preferred
• Temporary licensure: submit national cert. report; permanent licensure within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

• Accept and process specimens and ensure they are test-ready.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Perform high-complexity testing accurately within turn-around times.
• Monitor quality control and document results per policy.
• Investigate abnormal results and troubleshoot instrument issues.
• Floats between lab sections and support workflow as needed.
• Assist with orientation and training of new staff and students.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and waste handling policies.
