The Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Microbiology at Bayhealth is based at the Kent Campus in Dover, DE. You will perform and report laboratory results, ensure patient identification and specimen acceptability, and support training of new staff while complying with safety and quality standards.

This full-time role requires MLS/MT/CLS certification within 12 months or equivalent, with 2+ years of high-complexity testing experience for MLT staff.

Qualifications

• MLS within 12 months of hire or equivalent certification.
• 2+ years of high complexity testing experience for MLT staff.
• Education aligned with CLS/MLT programs and CLIA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report laboratory procedures accurately per policies.
• Verify patient IDs and specimen acceptability for testing.
• Train new staff and students with documented competency.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times.
• Maintain supplies, manage waste, and rotate stock as needed.
• Communicate critical results promptly to care teams.
