You will operate waived and moderate complexity tests, ensure safety, maintain equipment, and provide timely, accurate results under leadership while aligning with CLIA standards and quality control procedures.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor or associate level degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
• High school diploma or GED plus completion of an official military medical laboratory course and the Medical Laboratory Specialist specialty.
• Must be appropriately trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory.

Aufgaben

• Aligning with SOPs to perform lab test procedures on patient specimens with accurate, timely reporting.
• Provide patient care through clinical correlation of results and rapid notification of caregivers of critical values.
• Ensure major automated equipment is operational by performing maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting, including vendor contact for repairs.
• Perform calibration and quality control procedures and maintain records to ensure testing within parameters.
• Perform proficiency testing and review results with laboratory leaders.
• Assist in evaluating and documenting validation of new procedures and equipment for up-to-date lab technology.
