Mayo Clinic is seeking a Laboratory Professional to perform analyses on biological specimens and support testing operations in a fast-paced environment. This role requires coordination with the Lab Manager and Medical Director, and may involve overnight shifts to ensure continuous patient care.

The position emphasizes accuracy, timely reporting, and adherence to quality standards in a high-volume laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) is required.
• Or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or human biological science plus MLS/CLS/MT certificate per NAACLS is required.
• ASCP Certification or equivalent required. HEW certificate may substitute a degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses on biological specimens (e.g., blood, urine) to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Carry out operational support activities to maintain testing capabilities.
• Work under supervision with Lab Manager, Regional Director, and Laboratory Medical Director.

Responsibilities

Receive direction from Lab Manager, Regional Director and the Laboratory Medical Director. Work cooperatively with Administration, Physicians, Allied Health Staff, patients and residents.Non-Exempt position. Performs analyses on biological specimens, e.g. blood and urine, to aid health care providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Participates in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.**Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic**This position is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Qualifications

Baccalaureate Degree in one of the following:

• Medical Technology (MT)
• Medical Laboratory Science (MLS)
• Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS)

Or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or human biological science plus Certificate in Medical laboratory Science (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS), Medical Technology (MT), as recognized by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) is required. Or Bachelor’s degree plus (MLS) ASCP Certification is required. An HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.

Preferred Qualifications: Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) or Blood Bank experience preferred. Possess good written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects.
