UK King's Daughters Laboratory Services is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform testing in a fast-paced hospital/academic medical center environment in Ashland, KY. You will ensure accuracy, quality, and timely reporting across core specialties including blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis, and blood bank procedures.

The role requires a Bachelor's in medical laboratory science with ASCP certification and 2–3 years of relevant experience.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, biology, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in laboratory science is preferred.
• American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification is required.

Responsabilidades

• Maintains competency in core laboratory areas and follows established policies and procedures.
• Prioritizes and processes specimens to meet turnaround time requirements.
• Performs quality control, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance with proper documentation.
• Troubleshoots and repairs laboratory instruments to minimize downtime.
• Monitors and ensures adherence to specimen procurement, handling, transport, and processing protocols.
• Reviews and documents results, identifies errors, and escalates issues as needed.
• Communicates clearly with staff and patient care providers regarding procedures, workflow, and critical values.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to professional and safety standards.
• Completes competency assessments, continuing education, and reviews procedure updates.

Educación

Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science

Master’s degree in laboratory science (preferred)
