West Tennessee Healthcare is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform and report routine and special laboratory tests in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science and MT/CLS (ASCP) or equivalent, with TN licensure pursued within six months of hire.
The incumbent will operate and maintain instruments, prepare QC materials, and contribute to policy and procedure updates while ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of results.

Responsible for performing and reporting assigned laboratory tests in a prompt, efficient, and accurate manner in an assigned area of the laboratory. Must possess Clinical Lab Science degree certified by ASCP or equivalent as a Technologist. Under the direct supervision of the manager, supervisor or coordinator responsible for the assigned shift as scheduled. Incumbents are subject to overtime and call back by the department as designated by the hospital.
Communication and verbal skills to schedule procedures, report results, and obtain patient information with Nursing personnel on a frequent basis and with physicians and office staff on an occasional basis.
Interpersonal skills with patients to obtain specimens and to perform special skills in the laboratory on an occasional basis.
Ability to perform assigned duties within a work group.
Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department.
Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specified needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit/area/department’s policies, procedures, and/or Quality Plus Plan. Ages of patients served are neonate through geriatric.
