Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform a wide range of laboratory tests and provide accurate data for medical decision making. The role entails handling specimens from procurement to reporting, using manual and automated methods.

The successful candidate will ensure quality results, maintain compliance with lab policies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the Health System.

Qualifications

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be willing to work variable shifts and overtime as required.
• Must be willing to testify in court regarding testing activities if subpoenaed.
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Current CA CLS License.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Provides data for detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease across lab areas.
