Job summary

Community Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to support testing and reporting in a fast-paced clinical lab in Missoula, MT. The role follows standardized procedures to prep samples and operate equipment, ensuring accurate results for patient care.

The candidate will analyze test results, maintain quality control, and document procedures and records in accordance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Services required.
  • ASCP certification or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

  • Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing.
  • Operates laboratory equipment in a high-quality, effective manner.
  • Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and reports/documents results per organizational standards.
  • Performs automated tests using computerized instruments & automated equipment.
  • Runs tests and analyzes the results to be reported to the patient, physician or registered nurse.
  • Maintains records of procedures performed, the patient results and the quality control required for all procedures performed.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of all quality control tests completed.

How You'll Contribute
  • Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing.
  • Operates laboratory equipment in a high-quality, effective manner.
  • Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and reports/documents results per organizational standards.
  • Performs automated tests using computerized instruments & automated equipment.
  • Runs tests and analyzes the results to be reported to the patient, physician or registered nurse.
  • Performs Quality Assurance work to ensure accuracy of equipment.
  • Performs and determines accuracy of technical lab procedures.
  • Maintains records of procedures performed, the patient results and the quality control required for all procedures performed.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of all quality control tests completed.
  • Assures that all out-of-control procedures are followed and that there is documentation of remedial actions taken.
  • Performs all preventive maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, as assigned.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Services
  • Licensure: ASCP certification or eligibility required
