Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Laboratory Technical Coordinator to lead clinical laboratory operations across one or more sections. You will coach teams, ensure adherence to quality and compliance standards, and provide essential technical oversight to maintain accuracy in patient test results.

You will oversee daily lab activities, manage inventories, and contribute to selecting appropriate test methodologies while ensuring staff training and competency evaluation.

Qualifications

• Lead and coach laboratory personnel to adhere to policies and ethics.
• Oversee day-to-day lab operations and make operational decisions.
• Interpret and analyze laboratory results following established procedures.
• Manage inventory of supplies, equipment and consumables.
• Assist with selecting appropriate test methodologies for lab use.
• Verify test procedures and establish performance characteristics (precision/accuracy).

Responsibilities

• Coaches laboratory personnel to train for adherence to relevant policies and ethics
• Oversees most laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over operational decisions
• Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes
• Administers laboratory inventories such as supplies, equipment and consumables
• Assists with selection of test methodology that is appropriate for the laboratory use of the test results
• Verification of the test procedures performed and establishment of the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system
