Job summary

Hims & Hers in New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our clinical laboratory team. You will receive, log, and accession incoming biological samples, ensuring accurate entry into the LIS and proper preparation for testing by laboratory personnel.

In this role you will verify specimen integrity, labeling, and associated test orders; maintain compliant documentation; and support routine lab tasks while upholding HIPAA and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or lab training preferred.
• Clinical lab experience encouraged.
• Familiarity with LIS systems.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log incoming specimens from couriers.
• Verify labeling and accompanying test orders for accuracy.
• Accession specimens in LIS with unique identifiers.
• Sort by department or test type for prioritization.
• Prepare specimens for testing (aliquoting, labeling).
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate discrepancies.
• Assist with inventory and specimen disposal.
• Uphold HIPAA and safety regulations.
